I thought it was an improvement; New Moon seemed to be a lot better in terms of direction (i.e. the director seemed to know what they were doing). In my opinion, both of the actors that play Bella and Edward respectively can't act very well...it doesn't help that Bella can't seem to pull a facial expression which isn't sad or angsty.
I went in with pretty low expectations, and was looking forward to seeing some buff chest action. I came out quite surprised as I thought the film was decent, and highly enjoyed the amount of naked male-chest featured! ;D

Last night I watched Minority Report...I'm not a big fan of Tom Cruise. However one of my lecturers thought it would be a good watch for me, and it was.

Hmm, I've watched Star Trek a few more times as it recently came out on DVD. I've got it on Blu-ray and it's absolutely beautiful. Hubby got that on DVD for Christmas and we watched it today. I have to admit... it was totally AWESOME!!!!! So much so that I always add a little warning whenever I recommend this movie to anybody..... Make sure you are well stocked with your drinks and snacks. Oh, and also.... make sure you visit the bathroom BEFORE you start watching it, as you're guaranteed not to want to move your butt AT ALL until the final credits!!!!

t, and highly enjoyed the amount of naked male-chest featured! ;D Oh yeah!!! We went to see "Did you hear about the Morgan's" today. I really liked it, some parts were super funny. Though its a DVD movie (if you want to save your pennies). Hubby would recommend "Avatar" , he said it was really good! (not my kind of thing, so have no more to say about it)

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus just got back like 15 mins ago. For any that haven't heard about it.. cause it wasn't really advertised that much.. at least not here.. here is the trailer. This is Heath Ledgers very last movie... which is very sad because it only reminds you want a great actor he was coming into being :/ But the movie is great! Very different and pretty dark in nature. I will warn you though that it is going to turn out to be quite different than what you might thing it will be from the trailer, but very much worth it to go and see.

^ Hehehe Diz that's so weird - last night I watched The Dark Knight, another one of Heath Ledger's last movies! I've seen it before, but I love me some Batman ;D
What else have I watched recently? Hmmm...a guy I work with let me borrow a couple of French films: Breathless and L'appartement. I wanted to hit the main male character in Breathless because of the way he talked to the woman he was "in love" with, but I really enjoyed L'appartement (despite it's confusing ending).
On Monday I went to see Did You Hear About The Morgans?...arggh and Shell I agree with you, I'd call it a DVD movie. It wasn't worth the £6 I had to pay for a ticket ;_;
What else have I seen recently? eXistenZ (Mmm, young Jude Law)... He's Just Not That Into You...Shrek 2...that's all I can think of at the moment, hehe.

This is Heath Ledgers very last movie... which is very sad because it only reminds you want a great actor he was coming into being :/ Oh my "on the side boy", i so miss Heath!! And what do you mean....coming into being? He has always been a great actor, us Aussies have known that since he first started acting on "Home and away". Thanks for the review on Dr. Parnassus. I wanted to see it before, think i want to even more now LOL Adding two more movies. First one was "Bright Star". Now i didnt like it all that much. NOT that it was a bad movie because it wasn't. It just wasn't my thing. For those who love Jane Austin or poetry..or both will LOVE it. For those of you who don't, wait for it to come out on DVD. The other movie was "The lovely bones". This one i LOVED. I couldn't tear my eyes away from the screen and even though i knew she was dead i couldn't help but think NO!! What ever you do, dont leave the cinema if you are going to watch this one, every scene has something going on. My mum, Aunty and Uncle didnt like this movie so much as they felt there was maybe a little to much "fantasy" in it. I think...make up your own mind with this one.

Am looking forward to seeing it as I'm a big fan of Keats. Plus I really like the actor who plays him...he's fabulous! As for The Lovely Bones, have you read the book Shell? I haven't seen the film but have heard the book is a damn good read.

I have always liked Heath... but he was young and with most things in life the older you get the the more experience you have the better things are. So I was just meaning like he was good now.. it's a shame we will not get to see how great he would have been down the line.

I knew what you meant Diz and knew you weren't saying he was bad etc (even if you were, you are entitled to that opinion) was just pointing out that he started his career here on an Aussie soapy and we have always known he was good.
2 more movies, again, for me. The first one "Up" i missed while it was playing at the movies, so i hired it. I feel in love with it. Spent most of the movie crying LOL it was so touching and sweet. Was just a beautiful movie. Have told my hubby he has to buy it for my birthday LOL
The 2nd was the movie "Bran Nue Dae (said: Brand new day). Not sure if any of you will get it as its an Aussie film. Those of you who understand and find aussie humor funny etc, will love it! Was really good with a lot of laughs and a well, a lot of aussie humor LOL

I just watched UP for the first time yesterday too! I also missed it while it was in the theater. And man it was sad i thought. There were happy times, but a lot of things in that movie were a real downer. But it's a good movie.

In the past month or so, I've watched The Duchess, Blade Runner (seen it before, but I like it), The Reader, and last night I watched (for the second time) Brideshead Revisited.

How is the Duchess?? I actually have it (mom bought it for me when it came out) and I have yet to watch it O.O Now after two moves i have no clue where it's at. Well the other day I stopped off and got a few new DVDs (got a awesome gift card from my oldest brother and is wife and put it to good use buying movies ) And I got and then watched Les Miserables (seen most of it before, but it was off TV years ago so it was cut up and I came in not at the true beginning.) The Secret Garden... the newer version.. and by newer i mean the one made in 1993. It was a favorite movie of mine back then and I used to have it on VHS before I moved and would watch it constantly. And finally I got Amélie and movie I had never seen but been told for the last 8 years I should see because i would love it. I don' know what took me so long to get it! It's a wonderful movie and I do love it.. if you have not seen it I highly suggest you do, just be prepared for some reading as it's in French with subtitles.

The Duchess was pretty good, made me feel a little uncomfortable at times because the storyline is quite distressing. Worth a watch though

Star Trek.... yeah finally got around to it. Saw it on Netflix instant play so i added it to my queue. Last night Star Wars was on TV so it put me in the mood for something Si-fi today and thought why not. And HOLY MOLY! i donno what took me so long to watch this movie. It's AWESOME! I know what you were talking about now Kate. I just finished it and the credits have not even ended and I feel like starting it all over again. It's got actions, humor.. really like the humor... and a great story. I loved all the cheesy references to the original show and movies and all the catch phrases.
I hope they come up with more stories for this cast and crew of the Enterprise and do another movie or two... ya know all things that could take place before the TV show and other movies would have happened. It's just awesome with today's movie making skills and I thought the cast was just awesome. Okay i will stop gushing now.. but Kate you were so right about this movie.

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEHEEEEEEEEEEEE I love hearing when other people have enjoyed watching Star Trek just as much as me. Ever since seeing it I have become completely obsessed with the whole franchise (as you guys already know) and I'm so glad because it is simply amazing and in my opinion everyone should give it a go. Sci-fi fan or not.
There is another new film in the works (WOOP), I think it's being written at the moment. I heard shooting was due to begin next year for a possible release in 2012. If it's anything like it's predecessor, I will probably end up seeing it about 5 times at the cinema again. Tee hee hee!
I completely forgot about this thread...I have watched too many films since I last posted and I can barely remember which ones they were.
The most recent films I've watched are Evening and The Jane Austen Book Club - am going through a bit of an obsession with Hugh Dancy at the moment, hehe.
