So I have been playing a lot lately (now that I am able). and there is something I never thought of that is starting to bug me.
Sims have no sense of possessiveness over objects or rooms. I spend all this time creating nice and unique rooms for each sim and they could care less where they go to bed.. which closet they get clothes from nor which toy box they get toys from.
So I have been thinking.. it would be nice if there was a way to assign a sim to a bed. And when ever they were tired they would go to that one... and not just any open one. I had thought if there was away to give a sim a room.. but often my sim kids have to bunk together and share rooms.. and that wouldn't work for married sims.. one would begetting mad at the spouse being in the room. So that's how I came up with the idea of assigning beds... so they could have more than one per room..and double beds can have two people assigned. Along with them being assigned to a bed.. they would do other activities in the same room as their assigned bed.. like home work... and play with what ever toys are in that room.
I donno.. just some musings I've been having lately

I know what you mean, it's always something that's bugged me a little about the sims... One of the parts that makes it a little un-realistic... Maybe it'll be fixed for Sims 3?? There may be some ways round your problem if you read this thread... www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=218170Though I don't think it'll be foolproof or exactly what you're looking for...

I agree with you Diz. Though i don't go to great lengths to decorate (not a decorator LOL) I do make a room for each sim if its possible, and it annoys me that if they want to sleep they will do so anywhere! grr..its very annoying! Maybe it'll be fixed for Sims 3??. One can hope!

I am in full agreement with everyone here, and I do hope that is an aspect they have taken into consideration for The Sims 3. it annoys me that if they want to sleep they will do so anywhere! grr..its very annoying! I wish there was a hack to stop this. Very recently (ok perhaps not very recently as I haven't really been active recently in the Sims community) somebody created a hack to allow children to put their homework on their own specific desk. If only someone could do that for beds??! Sims just don't seem to grasp that sleeping in their parent's bed is annoying when the parents need somewhere other than the couch to boast their comfort and energy bars. What other Sim musings can I come up with? Hmm... perhaps just this off the top of my head: It bugs me when children bring their good grades home from work, and the parent they choose to celebrate with gives them no response whatsoever, simply because they are too busy on the exercise bike or participating in some other meaningless activity. I expect the parent to drop the task right away and get onto congratuating their child!

Yesh Kate! Isn't it funny.. there could be other adults free that they could run show, but they always seem to choose the one doing something. And now that you mention it I donno why the parents *don't* stop what they are doing... I mean if you set the kids to do home work and then a parent comes home with a promotion the kid will auto stop homework to run out and give the returning parent a hug.
Ahh.. that home work on own desk thing would be nice... mine always seen to gather around the family desk even though I usually give each kid a desk upstairs. Something new my sims have been doing though is putting the homework on the WRONG side of the desk and then when i tell them to do home work they say they can't o.O

Dizzy, you can move the homework in Buy Mode. I find it annoying when sims just go into a room where someone's sleeping and decide they need to turn on the stereo, watch television or play pinball in that room! I also find phones waking sims up annoying. I don't put phones in bedrooms anymore. Waaay too much hassle.

Dizzy, you can move the homework in Buy Mode. Yesh I know that..... but why should I have to? That is my point. If they were able to set it there they should be able to just slide it over to work on it.... and further more if they are unable to interact with it once it's on that side of the desk they should not be able to set it there at all! Now when ever setting out a desk I place something (light or what ever) on that end of the desk... but i don't really like things on the desks.

I think irony has decided to kick in. The instant i went to modthesims2, this was the first thing is saw. www.modthesims2.com/download.php?t=312004It's a desk mod. Someone should definitely try it out and come back to tell us how well it works. It looks pretty fool proof. But we shall see! ;D

I think that is the one Kate was talking about... I have been meaning to download it, but it seems every time i go to download from MTS lately it never loads and is waaaay slow. That is the one I was talking about Diz if you want I can put it in a zip and send it to you in an e-mail or upload it somewhere else if that'll be easier for you? I find it annoying when sims just go into a room where someone's sleeping and decide they need to turn on the stereo, watch television or play pinball in that room! I also find phones waking sims up annoying. I don't put phones in bedrooms anymore. Waaay too much hassle. Both of those annoyances that you have listed are two of my pet hates too! Now come on, EAxis should have used a little logic here, or do they not have many Logic skill points? In real life I would never dream of walking into my brother’s room and turning on his television, as I’d probably get my ass kicked. Especially seeing as he likes to have the volume up really loud! About the phone thing… In real life, I used to have a phone in my bedroom but – as my luck would have it – it always used to ring during the night or early hours of the morning! So I removed it (using Build/Buy mode, hehe just kidding)

ROFLMAOOOOO. Those dam phones! I have one i my room to LOL how do you use build/buy mode? I'd love to get rid of it ROFL You see, now that's the thing! All of a sudden this big blue button with an armchair and a lamp appeared out of nowhere... so I pressed it and I was able to delete my phone! The button has disappeared again now though. I was hoping a cheat box would appear also so I could input "move_objects on" and delete my brother!!

Hehe, oh to bring this back on topic I have another Sim Musing... although not directly appropriate... I hate when a Sim does something and then you get the dreaded: "The application has crashed. The application will now terminate." I never get that message when I crash in real life!
