Globoco’s WATN?: Austen (Part 1) (WATN = Where Are They Now) Well, at least it’s likely we got the right place this time.
…Yes, thank-you, I know your directional skills are “awesome”.
Now be quiet, I can hear shuffling behind the door.Man: Hi there! Me: Hi! Sorry to bother you, but I’m looking for Austen Bryan? Man: Austen Bryan? (Pauses) Oh, Austen Fooney. Me: Austen (Snorts) …Fooney?! Man: Yes, I’m his husband, George. Me: HIS HUSBAND??! George: Yes, husband. Why? Please tell me you're not another one of those girls sent by the nutty match-maker. Me: NO. I just wasn’t expecting him to be married… George: (Pissed off) Well, you do know now. Me: Yes, um, I do. So… (Awkward) Is Austen home? George: Not right now. He’s at work. Me: Oh. Can we come in and wait for him? George: Sure, I don’t see why not! (Grins) He will be home soon. Besides, it gets quite lonely around here when both he and Davis are out. Come right in, just excuse me a second… (To photographer) Talk about mood swings.(Nudges photographer, whispering)
Is he WADDLING?!
…Yes, I thought so. Can you see a baby bump??!
…It’s not my eyes deceiving me then. We shall ask about that.George: Sorry about the mess. Me: Oh, it’s no problem. It’s not like I’m the Queen or anything! (Crickets chirp)Me: So, how long have you and Austen been together? George: (Proudly) One year, one month and eleven days. Me: Wow! And I couldn’t help but notice your bump! When are you due? George: Today, actually. Me: WHAAT?! TODAY?! George: Is that a problem? Me: No, no… I… ugh… (Shifts uncomfortably) George: Don’t worry, I think this baby is going to be late. Me: O-ok… Anyway… getting back on subject… (Sighs) You mentioned a “Davis”? Who is that? George: Davis is our son. We adopted him just before we were surprised by this (Taps stomach) little bundle of joy. Me: Can I meet him? George: He’s at school at the moment. But I can show you this picture of him… hold on… (Pulls a Polaroid out of his pocket) Me: He’s a cutie! George: Oh yes! (Giggles) We know. *Door opens, in stumbles Austen who immediately puts his hand to his mouth* Austen: What are you doing here??! Me: Austen, hello!! Austen: I repeat: WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE??! Me: Oh, I came to see how you were doing two years down the line! I’m surprised you remembered me, actually… Austen: You should never have come here. Me: (Confused) Why not? Austen: You’re going to make me do something I do not want to do. Me: Wha-what?! Austen: George dear, cover your eyes. This isn’t going to be pretty. Me: Tell me what’s going on!!! Austen: Pleasant dreams… ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Next up on Globoco’s WATN?: Austin Bryan: Part 2

Thanks Katie ;D Hehehe Austen's idea was an insane one which popped into my head at the most inappropriate of times, so I decided to just roll with it seeing as it'll be a month before another one probably pops into my head. I can't claim all the "skills" on that polaroid, I downloaded a set of actions for photoshop and they did it for me... all I had to do was pick the photo! Thanks for reading

First of all, apologies that I have not updated this in a long time. I'm back at uni and it is more time consuming than ever! It doesn't help that I have to read and write essays on about 50 books this term. >_<
Currently I'm looking into buying a new computer (despite the credit crunch... am I insane?) so I might not update this until I have it. Although it might be a long time coming so I'll try to update when I can. For now I will have to leave you all in suspense!

ZOMG an update!! Thought I might update this seeing as I’ve got some free time at the moment. Just to let you all know the picture quality varies in this update, so if you see a difference in quality, it’s me, not you. Let the long awaited update commence! (Is it long awaited? One can only hope) WARNING: IMAGE HEAVY!Globoco’s WATN?: Austen (Part 2) (WATN = Where Are They Now) Me: Wha…wha??! Where am I? Austen: ( Benjamin Linus voice) Hello, Kate. (I take a minute to blink and stare at Austen, trying to remember.)Me: …Austen? What am I doing here? Is my photographer here?! Austen: Yes, behind you. And your lawyer. Me: MY WHAT?! I’m too young to NEED a lawyer! Lawyer: Hi Kate. Me: (Angrily) MY LAWYER DOES NOT LOOK LIKE A LAWYER. HE HAS A LIP PIERCING. Is this really my lawyer??! Austen: Yes. Lawyer: My name is Greg Payne; I’m a lawyer working for the ‘Hip Kidz’ law association firm. Me: I’m not comfortable with this. Austen: You are in no position to be comfortable with this anyway, Kate. Let me take a minute to introduce myself to you properly, as I have not yet done so. I am a different man to the one you were used to in the Globoco Asylum. My name is Austen Fooney, Private Investigator. Me: (Shocked) WHAAAAAAAAAAT??! Austen: I have brought you here today to– Me: No, NO! Stop. I don’t believe you. Where is your I.D.? Austen: (Sighs) Very well. (Austen holds out an identification card)Me: …oh dear god. (Austen puts his identification card back into his pocket)Austen: So, as I was saying– Me: If you’re a private investigator, are there people behind that seemingly normal looking mirror? Austen: (Sighs) Yes. Me: COOL! I feel like I’m on an episode of 24!! Austen: Good for you. I have brought you here today as I wish to discuss your involvement in what we like to call ‘Case 267’. Me: (Confused) Care to define ‘Case 267’? Austen: Do not pretend to not know what I am speaking of, Kate. Me: I really do have no idea what you’re going on about. Austen: Then I shall paint a picture for you. “About a month after the arrival of Davis; George, Davis and I took an evening stroll to our local park to spend some quality time together. It was a very peaceful night, the other residents around us seemingly wanted quiet time just as we did.
Davis and I sat down to a game of chess, whilst George engaged himself in his favourite hobby: Science. He loves nothing more than discovering new planets and making wishes upon the stars, I know he’s been doing this since he was a little boy.
However, I could sense there was something eerie in the air. There was an aura surrounding us which I just couldn’t place my finger upon. With the knowledge of what happened I now know what that ‘aura’ was, and I wish I could turn back time so the events never took place.
It was obvious that both George and Davis were completely oblivious to the aura around us. Davis was doing what he does best – beating me at chess – whilst George threw himself heavily into the stars.
George is truly happy when he’s in the vicinity of a telescope. And me, of course.
Abruptly, George jumped back from the telescope. I watched his movements closely. He could see something in the air, and was frightened of it. Moving carefully so as not to arouse Davis’s suspicion, I glanced up into the sky. I couldn’t see anything. What was George looking at?
All of a sudden, a large flying saucer appeared behind George, out of no where. It was the ugliest object I have ever seen. My mouth went dry and my body went numb. Curse the timing of my reactions! I wanted to scream; I wanted to grab both Davis and George and get the hell out of that park. But I couldn’t. I was frozen.
George let out a high pitched scream which immediately frightened Davis to make him jump in his seat. Turning his head, the two of us watched as a bright blue ray of light engulfed George in his entirety. At this point, I couldn’t believe that other park-goers were not reacting to the events happening before them. They all carried on as if nothing was happening!
Davis put his hands to his ears as an almost deafening screech resounded around the park and George was lifted effortlessly into the air. He made a grab for the telescope, but the suction force of the object was just too large.
He was taken from us.
Davis rapidly got to his feet and ran before the telescope, as if checking whether the event we just witnessed had really happened. His usually grinning face contorted into a sinister frown, and he clutched his hands so tightly that they began to turn yellow.
‘THEY TOOK DAD!’ He bellowed, looking pointedly at me. ‘ALIENS TOOK DAD!’
I surprised myself by finding that I could now stand up and, as if I was floating on air, I was suddenly standing in front of Davis. I had no words. I couldn’t tell him that everything was alright when I didn’t even know myself what had just happened.
Was Davis right? Did Aliens really abduct George?
I growled angrily.
Davis and I spent the next two hours sitting opposite one another on the grass in silence. We were waiting for George. Would he ever come back? We hoped so. We would have waited there for days if he hadn’t have been returned so speedily.
The flying object returned again and I could see it more clearly this time. It was circular and grey, with a flashing green light around the edge. Whenever I think of ugly, I now think of this… thing.
It opened its doors, and I could see a mass of the bright blue light which had engulfed George earlier. Were they back to steal away the rest of the family? Did these people – are they even people? – want to collect a whole set of humans?
Davis gasped as George came crashing out of the object.
George fell awkwardly to the ground and stayed there momentarily before standing up.
Glancing back towards the object, the same frightened look which had appeared on his face earlier reappeared. There was one question which resounded around my head: What had they done to my George?
Davis was the first one out of the both of us to react. Running over to George at the speed of light, Davis embraced his father in what looked like a bone-crushing hug. I listened as he exploded with tokens of his relief at having his other father back.
It was then that George looked over to me and I saw the extent of the damage. His worried look told me that nothing would ever be the same again.”Austen: What have you got to say for yourself, Kate? Me: That was a… remarkably sad story. Austen: So you admit it? Me: Admit what? Austen: (Running out of patience) That YOU were the one that gave the Aliens the order to abduct and impregnate my husband! Me: WHAAAAAAAAAAAT?! You think I did that to your husband??! Austen: Yes. After all, you have control over all of us. Greg the Lawyer: Mr Fooney, if I may speak. My client obviously knows nothing about the events which took place on that fateful evening, and I have evidence to prove otherwise that she was not involved. Me: THANK YOU, Greg with closed eyes. (Pauses) Wait, what evidence? Greg the Lawyer: (Quietly) Shhhh. Austen: I demand you give me this evidence! Greg the Lawyer: Kate was… (DUN DUN DUN) … Fooling around in the snow when the event took place. Me: I was? Oh yeah! I WAS. Austen: Ohh… I can see I have made yet another serious mistake… Me: (Sniggers) Austen: Apologies, Kate! I am sincerely sorry for placing the blame upon you. Me: These unexpected events happen, Austen. Sometimes they are forced with a debugger, at other times it is simply up to chance. Greg the Lawyer: I expect my client to be reimbursed for her precious time you have wasted. Austen: …Geh. Austen: (Laughing, awkwardly) Perhaps we could all just go for a friendly pint to make up for it? Heh… heh. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I just played Strangetown for the first time today (been stuck with Pleasantview ) and decided to play the Beakers... Nervous moved out and Circe broke up with Loki and married Vidcund Curious. :oThen she had twins (I <3 babies) and Vidcund got abducted with a new spiffytastic telescope with 10x the alien attracting power . He hasn't had the baby/ies yet, but I'm hoping they'll be pretty due to the pollination technicians I downloaded. Hehe Austen.. nice update, Kate.

Thanks Anti, although it wouldn't be that funny for us creators. Hehe! I've got some pretty pollination technicians in my game too Kae, thank god for the replacements. Otherwise all of the alien babies born in my game would be really odd looking! It's always nice to have a change in neighbourhood, I'm using my own custom one at the moment but I like going back to the Maxis-made ones for a change now and again. Thanks for reading

Pollination technicians are the aliens that impregnate the guy sims when they get abducted... unfortunately, they are ugly, so we have replacements for them to prevent the spread of ugly alien babies.

You can make a replacement yourself I think... though it might be complicated and will probably involve simPE. There might be a tutorial online somewhere...
The easier option would be to download one/some... I haven't got them anymore, but I downloaded a replacement pack from mts2 which had 2/3 different ones in it.
