So I wasn't sure where to go with this... it's not Sims2 and not Sims 3.. it's a totally new game being developed! The Sims Medieval looks like is could be interesting. A Whole new game set back in medieval times. I know for TS2 and TS3 there were always huge movements in custom content for medieval items and looks like EA was paying attention and is making a game just for that. I have always been fascinated with medieval times and for the video on the official site the game looks like it might be interesting and fun to play. Hopefully they will release more info soon. So what do you guys think of the game? Does it look fun to you? Something you'd be interested in? Or is EA taking too much away from TS3 by pushing out a new game when they are still working on TS3 and keep putting out buggy EPS with half arsed content? Sorry if i am behind the times on this, it's the first I have seen or heard of it.

I am wondering if its like the sims 2 story games. Where you have quests and once it ends well that's it, you can start again but there is nothing left to 'do' It looks like fun, but have to agree with you Diz, why the hell can't they just concentrate on making the sims 3 better (less buggy etc). Then again X mas is on its way isn't it?! Hearing the sound of money?

Well in the video they say that you can redo quests and like take slight different paths to see how it comes out that time. And I am sure like most games they will later make EPs for it to add in more game play.. that is if it gets the kind of reaction they want.
I never played the Sims 2 Story games so don't know too much about them.
One thing I really like the idea of in the Medieval sims was the "fatal flaw" feature where yer sims as a fatal flaw and you need to over come that. I wish they would add something like that into the normal Sims 3 game play. it would be a way to add another trait and a bit more of a personality and could make for some interesting game play.
Also sorta related.. in the Medieval Sims I do like the fact that they said when you add a building.. like the wizard hut that you got to customize the wizard and mod their personality. That fact alone would make each and every quest slightly different I would think. And as one that likes to make up little side stories in my head about the rest of my towns people I have added this feature appeals greatly to me. And I like the sense that every thing that happens int he village is part of the story. I donno.. still early to really get into features as they have not released much, but there are part that look fun. I would most likely get it just on the fact that it's sims based and about medieval times (<<-- every time I type that i keep thinking about the dinning experience restaurant..lol).
They also don't have a release date, I think Christmas this year is too close for them to release it this year. They would have had more out I would think to create more hype. But I totally hear you on the "hearing more money" comment... but they would get the same thing if they took a little more time to more fully develop and fully test things they have done for the TS3 EPs.

Too me, it looks pretty good, but also looks like I may get bored of it pretty quickly, seeing as it's a bit like Sims 3. Still, I'd buy it anyway. I've always wanted to play Sims in a Medival time, plus games like that have always attracted me . Hopefully they give out some more information soon! And hopefully they put it out into stores soon !

Oh wow, thanks Dizzy! I love the way she said they based it off Heroes (and 2 others). I LOVE heroes of mighty magic.

Its been around for YEARS. You have a dude on a horse that goes around to mines staking flags, collecting gems and gold chests (etc). All of which give money etc so you can buy creatures to add to your army so u can fight other dudes for their castles. Its a good game and 'medieval' set. Should go play it again LOL

Ooh, interesting. My favourite has to be the King when he gets his butt handed to him in a 'friendly' sparring contest

I'll probably get it. The more I hear and see about it I am liking it more and more. Plus it will be a nice way to take a break from all my extensive long family simming and play a game similar enough that I'd like, but also different enough to be something new.
Some things I am unsure about so far is the fact there is no building. That most the buildings are already done and are just shells and you place them in the pre programed area for them. one of my favorite parts of the sims is building and not just playing out the sims lived, but creating the world they live in and shaping it. And I wish we had that option with this game. It would be so awesome to build with the medieval building elements i think.
