thanks diz, it's good to be back, but seems as if everyone's been real busy with their own real life and the site is not as active as it use to be before I went MIA.

Sorry I haven't been posting and only lurking for a while. For the past few months my Dad had gotten really sick to the point he had needed a lung transplant. Sadly, after his long battle and struggle with this and being stuck in the hospital. My dad passed on Nov. 3rd 2008. I have had to help when I could along with doing the regular family things here at the house. The viewing and funeral are over it still feels like he is just away not gone, I still keep thinking I'll go over to my parents and see him sitting in his chair. Because of this all I had to drop out of classes at college last month. I just thought everyone here would want to know why they were seeing me lurk and not posting.

Oh simmer, sorry to hear about your Dad. Loosing a parent can be on of the hardest things to do. If you ever need to talk, i (and i am sure everyone else) is here for you. Take care of yourself. And it wont really ever feel like he is gone, i still expect my Dad to pick up the phone with his gruff hello when i ring mum.

Sherry so sorry to hear about your loss. I'm sure it must be really hard for you and your family, but just take good care of yourself and try to remember all the good times you've had with your dad. I haven't yet loss a parent, but I loss my grandmother earlier this yr and it's still hard to think that she's really gone. Like Shell said, it's almost as if when you call you still expect to hear their voice on the other end of the line picking up the phone and stuff. My condolences to you and your family for your loss.

Many apologies for not being very active recently but I've been so laden down with work and stuff it's been unbelieveable.
And now, I shall be away even longer as we jet off on vacation to sunny Las Vegas to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. I'll be sure to post some pics when we get back.

We're back and loved every minute of it. Sadly, the desert air disagreed with me and I had a really nasty nosebleed, but that didn't spoil the fun (just added a little 'spice' to the whole trip). We took in several shows...
Phantom of the Opera (awesome, highly recommended)
Legends - tribute act, very good
Bite - erotic vampire show (hmm, the less said the better)
The Platters/Coasters/Marvelettes - with some original group members, was good, especially listening to all the old songs
Criss Angel's BeLIEve illusion show - that was surreal to say the least. And worth it if you're into that sort of thing
The Automotive Exhibition at the Imperial Palace - well worth it if you like old cars. Saw the 1958 blood Red Plymouth Fury.... (better known as Christine from the Stephen King books and movie)
Madame Tussaud's - had my hands all over Johnny Depp (oopsies, my bad, hey we can all dream lol)
The Fremont Street Experience - that light show never fails to impress.
Saw the lions at MGM
And all of this... packed into ONE WHOLE WEEK!!!!!
Wowzers.
