I did a quick copy/paste from the other thread so I could give this it's own:
An idea I've had for a story is interesting, but I'm not sure if I'm creative enough to do it.
Has anyone here played the online RPG Kingdom of Loathing? It's a text-based role playing game. It's a lot of fun. What I am interested in doing is creating a short story (or even longer) featuring the travels of a newcomer to said game. They can meet all sorts of people like the Naughty Sorceress, Susie the Arena Trainer, the Council of Loathing, Race Car Bob, etc. Eventually I would hope to get items incorporated into the game as well (such as the in' Meatcar, Star sword, etc.). I would also try to add in things like a Drunken Stupor, the Meat Making Game, the Icy Peak, etc.
It would be a fun read, but I don't know if my graphics card would be good enough to do the pictures. If anyone here happens to play that game, let me know if you have any ideas.
My ideas of things to incorporate:
- The Naughty Sorceress (this will NOT be hard to accomplish).
- the Wolf Suit (I think there are some wolf characters floating around somewhere).
- Wand of Nagamar (wands are available somewhere, I think).
- Council of Loathing.
- Initially, the adventurer will appear naked, as they will have not had time to find any clothing yet. I think I'll make the adventurer male so I can use the shirtless option.
- Photoshop will probably enable me to add a few monsters, like the Can of Asparagus and a Really Big Spider.
- I'd need to create a forest for the Spooky Woods and area.
- South of the Border: I'm sure I could find a decorative chicken to use as a poultrygeist. Which leads me to thinking about...
- Familiars. Which ones could I incorporate? I'm thinking the Coffee Pixie might be pretty easy.
Outfits such as the Hot and Cold Ninja, Filthy Hippy, Swashbuckling, and Extreme Winter gear may be feasible.
Anyone else had some thoughts?
ETA: I would totally have to add the Gender-switching "doctor" from the Sleazy Back Alley as well.
