Hey guys! This story started out as some dialog for a couple pictures that I was working on for a contest over on S2C. After a couple of paragraphs, I decided to narrow down my dialog and use the rest for a story. I hope you like it! So, here goes! Also, please don't pay attention to the fact that I mixed up the clothing...there just wasn't enough of one kind or the other to do an entire story! And I want to give a BIG THANK YOU to Dizz for making my banner for my story!!! It's BEAUTIFUL!!!! *and she even got the twinkly stars!!!!*
Chapter One
My name is Johanna Longcastle, and I am the daughter of a wealthy merchant sailor. I grew up in a seaside manor with my Mother Clarice, Father George, and my two adoring little sisters Allisa and Adrianna.

My family is well liked in our hometown known as Klaims Port, and as our wealth grew, so did our social standings. My beautiful mother was invited to all of the local balls, and charity conventions, and as I grew up, soon the mothers of bachelor sons saw that I, as a wife and my dowry, would be quite a catch. Soon, I was also invited to nearly every function in town. I did have a couple of suitors, but as soon as they started getting serious about marriage I would get a feeling in the pit of my stomach, that something wasn't right, and I would run. Not literally of course, but I would stop allowing them to be seen about town with me, and would no longer dance with them at dances and balls. This happened several times, to my parents dismay, and I was soon known as the "Uncatchable Catch"
We were invited to Lord Glossop's annual birthday party...again. His parties tended to be the most boring around, but no on would refuse to come to the party because he owned most of the businesses in town. Also, little Allisa was turning of age this year, and my Mother and Father took it upon themselves to announce this as her big coming out ball. I tried to warn Allisa that Lord Glossop's parties are always flops, but she didn't care, and told me that I must not be a very good judge because I had turned down so many betrothals and how could my opinion be trusted?
As I stood in shock from her sudden outburst, she flounced around the room in her new gown, a yellow frothy thing that showed way too much of her shoulders in my opinion, and then nearly skipped out of the door. I wondered what had happened to my sweet little sister who, not a month ago was hanging on my every word. I had originally decided not to go to the ball due to a headache, Mother had begged me to go, but as I saw Allisa leave, I knew that I would have to go and keep an eye on her.
As I started to get dressed for the party, Mother walked into the room, all a-glow in her rose colored gown, looking to implore upon me one more time how important it was for me to go to the party, whether or not I had a headache. When she saw me putting on my gown, I thought she was going to fall over in shock. "What are you doing?" she asked in surprise. "I'm putting on my gown." I said simply. She looked at me with her lovely blue eyes and I knew that I couldn't keep anything from her. "I think that Allisa needs someone to look after her tonight mother. You should have seen her sashaying about the room not two minutes ago." Mother looked at me, "Why do you think she needs someone ELSE to protect her? Your father and I will be there to watch after her. Why does she need you there?" She asked looking hurt. "It's not that I think that you can't take care of her, I just think that a couple extra eyes wouldn't hurt." I said, as I struggled with the buttons on my gown. Mother turned me around and started fastening my buttons.
"Darling, you are so protective of her, but I think you need to worry more about yourself than your sisters. You have had several proposals and you've turned them all down! You've even got a bad reputation now!" "Mother, I've told you several times, none of them made me feel...I don't know...right. I can't marry anyone I don't have strong feelings for." Mother gave me her 'I understand, but I don't approve' look, and started out of my room. "Don't be too much longer dear, we can't be much later than we already are." She blew a kiss at me and left me and my maid alone to finish my hair and make-up.
When I finally came downstairs everyone stopped talking and stared. "Darling, you look beautiful!" My mother cooed. "Right," My father said. "Let's go, we're already late, and I am looking forward to our annual card game in the lounge." "Please say you'll dance with me a couple of times tonight darling..." my mother trailed off as they walked down the stairs toward the carriage.
Allisa looked at me with disdain in her precious face. "Please don't ruin this for me Annie. I truly want this to be a very special night tonight." Her pretty mouth turned down into a half frown, half pout, and I couldn't disappoint my dear little sister. "I won't ruin it Allisa, I would NEVER do that." Her frown slowly turned into a bright smile, and she flounced about the hall. "I am so excited...who do you think will be there?" She asked excitedly. "I don't know. Maybe we can find you a fine match tonight!" I said with enthusiasm that I really didn't feel.
