NOTE: Riiiiight, guys. This update is going to be the last for a while - school has come back to haunt me. Sob!
However, this time I'm not going to archive DLS - I'll leave it open and lingering down here. My reasoning? I might update it from time to time; when I get some free time to log on and update. I'm not promising you anything though - my school is deadly.
So anyway, enjoy this chapter (it's more of a filler chapter... killer! Well, I think anyway)!CHAPTER EIGHT. [/u][/center]
“He asked me to move in, he asked me to move in!” Natalie chanted later that evening, jumping up and down on the sofa in the girls flat. A bemused Madeline watched Natalie as she threw her arms up into the air, excitedly waving them around.
“Can you believe it?” Natalie enthused, crashing down dramatically upon the sofa. “I’m moving in with Mr. Jonah Greene; my Mr. Tall, Dark and Handsome extraordinaire!”
“Yikes, chick!” Madeline chuckled, fluffing the pillow behind her back. “You make it seem like he’s a big-shot celebrity!”
Natalie stood up and moved to sit on the edge of the coffee table. “Oh Mads, I like to think he is!”
Madeline rolled her eyes. “So, when are you moving in?”
“Keen to get rid of me, eh?” Natalie joked, cocking her eyebrow.
“NO!” Madeline spat, worrying that she’d offended Natalie. Once she’d noticed Natalie’s smiling face, she felt relieved that she hadn’t. “I’m just wondering when you’re leaving Bree and I, that’s all.”
Natalie pouted. “Aw, don’t say that! That makes me feel bad; it sounds like I’m abandoning you both!”
Both girls flinched slightly as they heard the front door slam, the sound of high-heels on the wooden floor reverberating off of the walls of the flat. Natalie turned to the side as Brianna stumbled into the room, her hair and make-up drenched from the heavy rain that had been falling outside.
Madeline smirked, letting out a small snort directed to Brianna’s soaked state. “Need a shower, Bree?”
“Ha,” Brianna laughed sarcastically, shooting Madeline a wicked look. “I've already had one, thank you. Bloody hell, I’m never turning a ride from Ryan down again!” She suddenly caught sight of herself in the opposite mirror. "BLOODY HELL! Look at my hair! It's gone frizzy!" She put her hands to her head and ran them down her hair, in attempt to straighten her sodden waves. "Oh, for the love of god... I spent forever straightening that earlier!"
"All that for nothing, eh?" Natalie laughed.
Brianna looked over to her. “Hey Nat, how was your surprise dinner with Jonah?”
“Full of surprises, thank you,” Natalie replied, “But guess what! He asked me to move in with him!”
Brianna’s face lit up. “Really? Whoa! Congratulations, Nat!” She gave Natalie a thumbs-up followed by a small clap. “I’d give you a hug but uh, I don’t think you’d want a wet one.”
Natalie scrunched her face up. “No, you’re alright, ta.”
“So, answer my question!” Madeline barked, suddenly drawing the attention of both Brianna and Natalie. “When are you moving in?”
“Next weekend.” Natalie replied shortly.
Brianna gasped. “Really? That soon? Jeez, can’t stand the sight of us anymore, eh? Oh, and the stink in Maddie’s case.”
“Oi!” Madeline snarled, “What’s with the insult, chick? Where is the love?”
Brianna held her hands up in the air in mock-defence. “It’s those pints I had at the pub; plus you got one on me a few seconds ago. Remember?”
Natalie rolled her eyes as she listened to the quarrelsome banter Brianna and Madeline were directing to one another, throwing insults back and forth.
“Well, that’s one thing I won’t miss…” she muttered to herself before grabbing one of the sofa cushions and holding it over her head.
