Prologue

Kinlee Smithford's life had been very normal, very boring up till now. She was the only child to Mr. James Smithford and Mrs. Lenore (Tudenera) Smithford. Her family had been pretty much broke most of the time but they got their bills payed, which was mostly why her parent's decided it wouldn't be fair to have more then one child unless things got better for them.
Kinlee didn't think she was pretty at all she always thought she looked plain no matter what compliment was thrown at her. She had her Dad's mother's features her Mom's hair and her great great Granddad's eyes on her father's side. She was proud of where she came from though most people didn't hardly know who their great grandparents were much less any further back.
The day it happened she'll never forget, both her mom and dad were up for promotions at their jobs, she was working at a fast food place after school trying to help pay for bills, when she got the news her parent's (who carpooled everyday back and forth to work together with a bunch of co-workers) had been in a terrible accident. Her parent's sadly hadn't had any chance for survival soon after the wreak the car caught fire and they were trapped along with a few of their follow co-workers. The firemen and police arrived on the scene to late to help them.
In the aftermath what with the bills from the double funeral and the regular bills, Kinlee decided to sale the house and move out to a place called Greenvale since the property taxes and bills were alot cheaper (not to mention the land being cheap), she'd also have a chance to start over fresh.
That was the past, she wondered what the future would be....

Kinlee's POV :

Chapter 1 "I am Kinlee hear me meow?"
Well, this is it, this is all I have to start with. Basically it's just an outhouse I need to earn some cash quick so at least I can get something to sleep on or else I may end up sleeping on the toilet.


Ahhh....here comes the paperboy now. Wow does he look serious or what?
Anyways I'll need the paper to find a job I guess.



Hmmm.....Science or Medical.....Ahh there it is the science career track.

I mostly spent the rest of the day trying not to think of food untill I couldn't stand it anymore and headed for Club Janks in Jankinsville. It is supposed to be the place to be.....*giggles* what they don't tell you is that it's the only place to be.


When I got there I ordered some food ate it quickly so that I could tend the bar since I needed the money. While I was going to the bar I saw the most gorgeous guy I've ever seen in my life.


Not to mention boy did he have a great butt! I was hooked from that point on, the only flaw this guy had was his nose.

Whew! So back to my being a bartender for the night...

Not the coolest or hottest clothes I've been in but hey it pays.

After my shift was up I needed some fun and walked over to the dartboard. I saw a woman near the bar and called over for her to join me if she wanted (luckily the locals here are nicer then they were back where I came from).


I can't believe how nice the people are here at times I mean they had the welcome wagon and everything.

I got back from the club only to fall asleep right after I got out of the cab I was so exhausted. My last thought was of the weather and that I hope it wouldn't turn cold since I was basically camping...uh bumming would be a better word for it though.


I woke up that morning so tired still so with the money I had earned I bought a loveseat to sleep on. Happily I laid my head down and had dreams of that handsome bartender I met from the other night.

(Author's note: I know I don't have alot of pics in this one sorry, there will be more in the next chapter.)

Chapter 2 "I've been robbed!"
It was night, she was fast asleep on her love seat/bed. Kinlee has always been a very light sleeper who wakes at almost any "things" that move that wasn't normally moving at night.
"Mmm...zzzz....huh?" She woke with a start looking around the dark grassy land which was her own. To her horror she spotted a shadow coming her way.
"Hello? Anyone out there?" No response, Kinlee got up and ran for the phone hiding behind the "outhouse" all the while dialing the police. She almost went into hysterics as she spoke to the operator, the shadow was getting closer to her. It was at this time she wished she owned a gun or at least a frying pan so she could at least wack the person over the head with it. She held her breath as she saw the shadow look around towards her direction, then it turned back to her love seat that it was now standing over. Rubbing it's hands it grabbed the love seat and tried to escape only to run into a cop that had finally come in response to Kinlee's call.


Fighting broke out, the robber (the victor) escaped with her love seat in tow (actually it was kinda amazing how fast and how strong the robber was since it was a love seat), the cop was rubbing a bump on his head, tried to get up and fell over. Trying again this time succeeding, he then took off running after the robber.
Kinlee was alone again crying her eyes out scared to death. She sat cursing the heavens for taking her parents away, she had a home once, she was safe once too, but that had been ripped away from her so fast and so cruelly. She no longer felt safe in her new home.....or at least on her new land. She saw now how much she needed a house, somewhere she could call home and feel halfway safe again, but how....to get the money she needed for it was a different story.
"Well, it does me no good to sit here and sulk about it." She thought as she got up, dusted herself off, and wiped away her tears. As she stepped out of her hiding space, she saw the cop coming back empty handed and pouting a little, poor guy felt like such a loser for not being able to catch the bad guy/gal.
"Mam, I'm sorry I wasn't able to apprehend the suspect. I hope you have insurance, if you do you might be able to replace your love seat." He said trying not to look so embarrassed.
"No, I don't. I don't have much to my name as you can see, I used my last paycheck on that love seat so that I could sleep.....I'm not sure what I'll do now." Kinlee said trying not to cry about it like a big baby.
"Umm, look if you'd like. I'm in need for some coffee it's been a long night, I know it doesn't make up for losing your love seat but I will buy you a cup. Plus you may feel a bit safer too."
" Sure, thanks I could go for a cup too." I shuffled behind him towards the car.


"Club Janks"
As she and the cop sipped their coffee, she found out his name was Richard Sharp. She also found out he had a lovely wife and three sweet kids all blondies like their father. She didn't talk much herself since she was still a little shaken.
"Alright well, Kinlee I'm sorry but I have to get going. Hopefully this time to catch the bad guys and not have them slip away from me, will you be alright now?"
"Yes, thank you very much for the coffee and keeping me company for a while."
She watched Richard leave, she turned back to her coffee and slowly stirred her coffee watching the blackness swirl around and around.
But what she didn't know was that she was being watched.........

Chapter 3 "The Date"

"Hey, Kinlee was it? Sorry to interrupt you but I kinda overheard you had been robbed. I'm sorry.....is there anything I can do?"
Kinlee looked up and found herself staring up at the good looking bartender with the nice butt, talking to her.
"I...uh...yeah, yeah on both accounts. Sorry I don't think I caught your name the last time."
"It's Pierce, Pierce Pai to be exact." He looked at his watch. "Would you like to have dinner or something I'm going on break."
"Yeah sure I think I could go for something right now." She looked in her purse seeing only a few dollars in her wallet, she was embarrassed and tried to retract her first response. "Um...sorry guess I'd better stick with the coffee. *Sigh* I spent most of what I had from my paycheck on that love seat that was stolen...which was my only piece of furniture."
"No, no, no I insist on paying for the meal, order anything you'd like, you do deserve it after what you have went through and besides we'll just call this our first of many dates, (he looked at her wiggling his eyebrows) yeah I saw you before when we first met you thought I was hot not to mention you were looking at my butt (he stifled a laugh)."
"Oh *blushing* sorry about that, but you do have a nice butt (starts to giggle at him). If you don't mind paying I don't mind eating."
"Well, I guess that means it's a date, then." He sat down opposite of Kinlee on the booth and picked up a menu. They made small talk while they waited for the waiter to come.



She soon found out he also had just moved here only it being the year before he was still quite new. So he was pretty much alone too. He lived in an apartment not far from Club Janks. "It was not much but a hole in the wall to him, but at least it was way better then my house." Kinlee thought.
Finally the waiter came and took their order then shuffled back to the kitchen. Kinlee found herself gazing into Pierce's eyes it was hard for her to stop there was just something about him, she just couldn't explain it.
"Your eyes are so beautiful, Kinlee. Has anyone told you that before?" Pierce asked breaking the silence.
"Just a few times but mostly from my parent's."
"Oh if you don't mind me poking how did they die? I know curiosity killed the cat but I can't help wanting to test the waters anyway."
"You sir have a very weird sense of humor." Kinlee giggled. "I kinda like it. How they died......well they died a few years back in a horrendous accident......I....(she starts fighting back the tears as she remembered the tragic event.) I was working at the Burger Flick flipping burgers when...the...the phone call came." She went silent trying to think of anything else, looking to see if the food was coming.
"I will not cry...not here not now." She thought as she tried to settle herself down. She absolutely hated crying in front of anyone it was even worse if it happened out in public. It made her feel so very vulnerable and weak.
A few minutes passed while Kinlee collected herself, the food finally arrived so after. Chucking a few bites in her mouth the feeling of being about to cry faded.
"I'm sorry if I upset you, it must be hard that your parents passed." Pierce played with a few bits on his plate feeling like such a big dope.
"No, it's fine I've got to get over it somehow. I need to be able to put it in my past." She looked up at Pierce. "How about a toast? (she raised her glass) To new friendships."
Pierce raised his "To new friendships......(he added silently to himself) and maybe something more." He smiled slyly.


They soon fished their food and Pierce paid for their dinners. Pierce suggested a round of darts to break the mood and have some fun. Finding the dartboard free they started up a game.
"So what do you plan to do? Or is it just bartending for life?" Kinlee had been wanting to put that question out there for a while now.



"Oh I don't know really I just want to be able to settle down have a wife and a few kids. I've always liked the benefits of the Sim Air Brigade but then again I don't like the fact I could maybe be called away from my family, if I ever had one. I'd like to see my kids grow up." He shuffled his feet and looked shyly over at Kinlee. He had never told anyone that before, but yet he had never felt this way with anyone before in his life, he felt really comfortable and at ease with her. Kinlee looked over at Pierce, she couldn't believe how childlike he looked at this moment, she kinda felt sorry for him. She came closer to him her gaze never leaving his, she just wanted so badly to give him a hug. They seemed to be lost in each others gazes, Kinlee got closer still only having a hug in mind but Pierce being high on the moment pulled her in and gave her a very head spinning kiss.



For a moment all else didn't matter to Kinlee or to Pierce for that matter, when the kiss ended Kinlee was shocked at the whole thing but she had a dumb looking smile on her face.
Laughing at the look Pierce said silently "Well, if I would of know that was all it took to get her to smile I would have done it sooner."
"Wow! Just plain wow!" Kinlee thought to herself as she was still having a buzz from the kiss.
"Earth to Kinlee. Yoohoo!" Pierce called her out of her trance he had put her in.
"Yeah, I'm back nothing to worry about (she smirked) you didn't break me."
"Sorry but I have to get back to work it seems my break is over. Here is my number, I hope you'll call me soon." He jotted down his number and gave it to Kinlee.
"Thanks for dinner and her is mine as well, don't be a stranger call me too ok?" She scribbled down her numbers as well and handed them to him.
"You don't have to worry about me not calling, I've had a great time I hope you did also."
"I've had a very good time as well. We'll need to hook up and do it again sometime soon."
They kissed a parting kiss and went their separate ways.
Back at home Kinlee was on cloud nine even the fact that her love seat was gone didn't phase her. That was until she needed sleep, which meant she was sleeping on the toilet tonight.

Kinlee's POV :

Chapter 4 "Let's get hitched"
As things progressed with Pierce and I, we seemed to get more and more inseparable. We were like one person at times, things seemed to be going great at one point Pierce moved in bringing 14,000 Simoleons with him. First thing we did together was build a small house, incorporating the outhouse into it for the bathroom.


Let's just say I was in hog heaven when our house was finished and everything bought for it. I have a bed, I can't believe I have a bed again!! (Dances a little happy dance.)
I also made sure he got a nice haircut and semi new duds. I think his hairdo looks really nice on him.

A couple years have past since he moved in, in that time frame we got engaged after thew first year of living together.

Pierce was so nervous while proposing I swear he had a look on his face that was pure fright that I was going to say no.

I said yes of course (laughs).

This year though we are getting hitched, tomorrow to be exact. I have to admit to getting cold feet a couple times before today. It all seems to be going so fast for me. But I guess that's normal....I do love him.....and he loves me that's all that matters right?
We had arranged a very small ceremony outside, under a white rose covered arch. My dress was perfect, I just wished that my parent's could be there tomorrow, they deserved that, they watched me and helped me grow up then that happened and they can never watch their little girl walk down the aisle. It all got taken away from them.....away from me....my hope is that nothing will happen to me or Pierce if we have children, I'm scared it will...I guess I can't help that.

The next day......
Here we are finally under the arch looking into each others eyes both scared that the other will bulk first (laughs). Pierce looks great except for the tux, I thought we agreed he wouldn't rent that one (she smiles a fake smile all the while she is fuming about the tux), he'll hear about this later.

We repeated our vows, in which we had especially written for each other it was so romantic so that I almost forgot about the tux.

It came time for the ring exchange, once I felt that ring on my finger I felt safe again, I knew he would be there for me if I needed him forever, however long forever maybe since I thought my parent's would be here forever it's kind of hard to really know now.....

As I slipped on his ring I looked into his eyes and wondered what he was thinking as I did so. Although I think he was thinking somewhere along the lines of "Alright we can finally have woohoo now!!". Poor guy I wouldn't let us do the deed until we got married. Wow, did he suffer every night ever since he moved in he has tried to get me to woohoo (laughs).

The kiss signified that we were finally really truly married and boy was that a great kiss almost as good as our first kiss.

We didn't have a honeymoon since my new husband and I had to work the next day. Since there were no guests to worry about we ran all the way to the bedroom.

It was amazing it couldn't be any better, I'm glad we waited.



A month or so after the wedding night....
"Honey, I gotta go the car pool is here. I fixed you some toaster pastries, if you want one they'll be in the kitchen." Pierce called to me as he rushed out slamming the door behind him. I just don't feel to well this morning, I wonder if I caught a bug at work. (She staggered into the kitchen and grabbed a plate to eat.) I tried to eat I really did but one or two bites in sent me rushing for the bathroom.

I had been getting craving after craving for weeks now and they have only been getting worse. Not to mention that when I did eat I would feel sick to my stomach and it has only gotten worse.
Pretty soon Pierce and I began wondering if it might be more then just a bug.

Well, there goes my slim figure, although Pierce seems oddly happy about me getting chubby.

I've got the pics I just got to write the story arrage the pics for it and hope for the best. LOL you are in for a surprise.......now if I can pull it all off. I have an appt. tommorow morning and will try my hardest to get started on it sometime afterwards, I have to be in the mood or else it'll come out like crap.

Just wanted to stop in and say things have been pretty hectic around my house for the past few days so I haven't been able to write the story (not to mention it has pretty much worn me out). I know I have been giving quite a few excuses (ok maybe the other excuses or me feeling guilty about this is all in my head making it seem worse then it is LOL ) and I'm sorry about that. I will try to write the next chapter tomorrow if the time presents itself and I'm not still worn out (not to mention in the story mood, which I should be if all goes well LOL ). I do have the pics so no worries with that it's just the story I don't have LOL.

Yay, Chapter 5 is on the way! (Does the happy dance.) I have finally gotten it written up and will type it up this afternoon when my hand feels better (writting gives me hand cramps LOL ). Just thought I'd give everyone the heads up.

Kinlee's POV:

Chapter 5 "All by myself"
What I call "the nightmare" started when I was just starting my third trimester of pregnancy. I remember it like it was yesterday, Pierce and I started the day just like any other day. The afternoon though was a different story it would of been very normal had she not shown up.

She was Janis Edsel, I greeted her as I have many other people who have shown up at our door invited her in, she had said she and Pierce were friends.

At first our conversation was very innocent, then Pierce came into the room looked at her and I knew by the look on his face that he had never seen her before in his entire life or so it seemed.
"Uh.....ok now I know this will be all hard to swallow...you see there is no easy way to explain this but Kinlee has Pierce ever told you about his past?" Janis inquired.
I thought about it, and no I didn't ever remember him saying anything I thought that was pretty odd but I just thought he was upset about something that had happened. "No, I don't think he ever did." I told her with a confused look on my face.

“Why do you ask, has something happened to someone in his family?”
“You see….it’s like this…Niall..um..Pierce isn’t Pierce he is really Niall Edsel…my husband and father of our two boys. If you don’t believe me here is our marriage certificate, his birth certificate, and some photos of him while young and our marriage photos. I have been looking for him for sometime now. He has what they call Simforgotius, his memory sometimes goes on the blink, he’ll wander off and start a new life. He has already done this two times before once when we were just married and now this is his second time.”
I shuffled through the pictures, all of which looking just like Pierce of only younger. I looked at the certificates everything there seemed legal, I was in shock by it all.
“Niall…..um Pierce I mean, I want to show you our boys.” Janis whipped out two photos, I was still in so much shock that I didn’t know what to say or do. “This first picture is of Blake our oldest, he was about to turn 4 when you left,”

Pierce shakily took the photo from Janis and a tear rolled down his cheek. “This is of our youngest Derrick I was still pregnant with him when you left. He is now about 2 almost 3.”

I glanced over at the boys they looked like their father. Pierce got up, took the other pictures and certificates from me. He looked at them each, with a look of disgust at himself and beginning to remember things all too quickly, he turned to me.

“I’m sorry Kinlee…..for everything. I can’t stay, we aren’t really married, I’m not Pierce, I…I remember everything again I’m sorry I don’t love you…..my heart belongs to Janis.” With that he broke down.

Janis ran to him to comfort him, I cut her off (losing my temper in the process). “How dare you come in and ruin my life and my unborn baby's life! How dare you ruin my marriage! And you!”

I turned to Niall. “You sir are the scum of the Earth for telling me all of this, all of what we went thru meant nothing! Saying everything even your love was a sham, that sir is bullshit! And what about our life here? What about your child? I’m afraid that I’m sorry doesn’t cover it at all! Let me tell you something NIALL if you walk out that door with that woman you and I are through and you can forget about ever seeing your child you will never see that child ever if you do so.”

I fumed as Pierce/Niall cried his eyes out.

“Now wait a damn……” Janis tried to get out, I cut her off again shoving her rear end out the froint door, closing it behind me. Pierce/Niall just looked past me towards the door then back at me……he then walked towards the door and out of our lives never to be seen by us again. I watched them both threw the window getting into the car and the driving off.

That’s when I finally let go and gave in to the deepest depression I have ever been in, in my whole life. I felt more alone then I’ve ever felt before, I made my way to the bed and cried myself to sleep. Every dream I had that night contained him, that bastard!

I didn’t do much but cry day in and day out only stopping long enough to go to the bathroom and try to cook something to eat. Everything was quite a blur for sometime afterwards.

About a month or so later……..
I was eating dinner still thinking about the breakup, I still couldn’t believe it was real.

A week or so before I had hired a crew to build a baby room they had just finished the job, I figured to hire a decorator after the baby was born. I got up washed the dinner dishes and headed for the bathroom only to feel the first pains of labor.

I waddled for the phone as fast as I could to call the paramedics. They came for me about 15 mins later I was so scared.

Two days later….
I arrived home with a baby daughter named Talitha, Tally for short.

She was beautiful, she looked nothing like her father so far. But from what I have heard that can change as she grows up. I can only hope that she doesn’t inherite Niall’s disease or his big ugly nose.

While I was in the hospital I had called a decorator to do up Tally’s room, I must say they did a great job, simple yet classic girly style.


“Sweet little Tally girl, shhh….honey you don’t need a father I’ll take care of you, I promise.” I put her down in her crib and then sat down in the chair across from her crib.

I just sat there and watched my perfect little girl wondering how it would have been if that all hadn’t happened with her father. Wondering if he would of cooed over her…..wondering if she would have been a daddy’s girl.

I fell asleep there watching my angel and thinking of what would have been.
